Happy New Year!

At the beginning of the new year 2020, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to your continuous patronage and supports to us in the past year.

To reflect on the past year, the Japanese economy showed a steady recovery owing to the improved employment and income circumstances. On the other hand, overall global economy has remained uncertain due to prolonged trade conflict between the U.S.A. and China that negatively affected the economy of the neighboring regions of the two countries concerned.

As to the fields related to our business, Japan saw a slow recovery in capital investment thanks to the governmental subsidy to the manufacturers. In the overseas arena, however, the trade conflict between the two economic giants made the demands decrease particularly from the auto industry, casting a dark shadow to our business environment.

In terms of machine supply, we had caused great inconvenience since the year before with an excessively long delivery time triggered by supply shortage of some key components in the vigorous economic situation in the world. But we are very pleased to inform you that the delivery time is now getting shorter to the ordinary level thanks to the expanded procurement sources and availability of alternative parts. In addition, the slowdown of the world economy favorably worked to ease the procurement situation of machine components.

On the occasion of two huge typhoons that hit eastern Japan a few months ago, we would like to apologize to the disaster-affected customers for the inconvenience in getting our timely and sufficient supports in restoring the damaged machines. We now give it a top priority to support those customers until full recovery of their manufacturing operation.

To update our product information, we have completed the full line-up of the Si-6S series of Plastics Injection Molding Machines, featuring the latest control system, SYSTEM800. We also added a new model of HBD-5000N to our lineup of Die-casting Machines. And we are now under way in developing new series of Injection Molding Machines and Die-casting Machines, which will be put in the market within this year.

Regarding the public relations, we actively participated in various exhibitions worldwide last year: K 2019 show held in Germany in October and other exhibitions in Mexico, Spain, Poland, Turk, Indonesia and China for Injection Molding Machines; and “The 14th China International Diecasting Congress & Exhibition” held in Shanghai, China in July and another show in South Korea for Die-casting Machines. Again, we would appreciate your visiting our booths at respective shows.

The new year 2020 is the second year in Japan’s new era “Reiwa” or “Beautiful Harmony” and the year of “Rat” in Chinese Zodiac. We would expect it to be the year blessed with returned “busyness” and bright future. Though we cannot help but recognize the uncertainty due to the protectionism of the U.S.A. government and geopolitical aspects in the regions such as the Korean Peninsula and the Middle East, we can find various prospective factors such as technical innovations along with the CASE (connectivity, autonomous, shared, electric) in the automotive industry, the new communication system 5G, as well as further development in the newly emerging economies. We would like to be a company relied on and sought-after by customers and contribute to them in such prospective fields with our technologies and products.

To realize above, we will strengthen our global business activity set in our Middle-term Business Plan “TOYO-G-Plan2020”, increase our technological capability and cost competitiveness in addition to production capacity. Along with our sustainable development goals or SDGs, we will totally increase our corporate value. With our proven technology as a leading company in the plastics injection molding and die-casting industries, we would like to contribute to production at customers in this year too.
